23.12.09

Whenever I'm packing, my cat jumps into the suitcase and rolls around, expecting me to pet him. It's like he knows I'm going away and wants me to stay.

22.12.09

By the way, bitch, I WON.
HA.

:]

21.12.09

He's so pretty and I'm in love with his voice.

My friends annoy me sometimes.

Situation number one.
One of my friends wanted to borrow some of my books for the summer and I said okay, because I don't mind borrowing my books. So, when we met up, I lent her The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which is amaaazing, in portuguese, which is called "As Vantagems de Ser Invisivel." She looked at the book, read the title out loud, laughed and said, "É, como se fosse possível ser invisível."

Situation number two.
I was with another friend and we were looking through magazines. I picked up a magazine that had Dakota Fanning on the cover and I was like "wow, when did she grow up?" and started looking through the magazine until I reached the article with Dakota Fanning. My friend started looking at it with me and there were photos of Dakota Fanning in other jobs, like in War of the Worlds and New Moon, but it didn't show all of her movies. And my friend was like, "She was also in Uptown Girls. Why isn't there a picture of her in that?". And she started looking through the magazine trying to find a picture of Dakota Fanning in Uptown Girls.

Situation number three.
One of my friends' favorite song is "I've Got a Feeling".

Situation number four.
They always want to go to the mall. Like every weekend. Not that I hate the mall or anything, I happen to like going to the movies alot. But the thing is, they go to the mall to have lunch or dinner and then to walk around. And everyone goes to the mall so we always end up seeing someone we know. Anyways, tomorrow they want to have lunch with all the girls because majority of us are travelling wednesday. And so, our goodbye lunch is going to be at the (drum roll please)...the mall! Because they love it there! Because they're so original!

Grr.
So give me all your poison and give me all your pills, give me all your hopeless hearts and make me ill. You're running after something you'll never kill, if this is what you want, then fire at will!

I'm in the mood to listen to the songs I used to love before I developed a good taste in music. So it's going to be My Chemical Romance, early Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy and Paramore all night. :)

I was never a huge fan or anything, but I can't believe she's dead.

The year of change

I guess it's time for those reflective blog posts about the year. So, I ask myself, "how was 2009?". If I had to sum it all in one word, it'd be "change". So much has changed this year and I think I have changed. I'm not the same person I was in December of 2008. Not that that's a good or negative thing, it just is, y'know.

Things that marked my year:
- Famble (for better or for worse)
- André; this was basically the "okay, if you guys can make it through this, you can make it through everything" year
- Positivo
- Vicky (this was like, OUR year hahaha)
- My blog and all the lovely people I befriended because of it :)
- Lady Gaga
- Obama
- Skins
- Festas de 15 and "I've got a feeling"
- Swine flu and having extended vacations because of it and alcool gel haha
- Sims 3!
- Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett and now Brittany Murphy dying
- Rio being picked as the city for the Olympic Games
- The whole Kanye thing at the VMA's
- Finding out which people are really there for me, as cheesy as that sounds
- Making new friends :)
- First time learning chemistry
- Twitter
- Andy haha
- Rihanna and Chris Brown incident
- Twilight explosion ¬¬
- HP6 movie!
- First time I went to Rio

And next year? I think 2010 has everything to be the best year EVER! :)
My hair was in a ponytail. I decided to take a nap. I woke up and it looked like this. Holla.

19.12.09

Hi, I'd marry you.
Whenever I listen to "You're All I Have" by Snow Patrol, I think of sky-diving. Kudos to who knows why. :)

(It's from a movie, btw.)

18.12.09

"And then I saw you kissing that girl, my heart, it shattered, and my eyes, they watered, and when I tried to speak, I stuttered. And my friends were like 'whatever, you'll find someone better, his eyes are way too close together and we never even liked him from the start, and now he's with that tart, and I heard she done some really nasty stuff at the park with Michael, he said she's easy and if your guy's with someone that sleazy then he ain't worth your time 'cause you deserve a real nice guy'. So I proceeded to get drunk and to cry and lock myself in the toilet the entire time."
Kate Nash rocks.
I have this theory that people who are ticklish are more sensitive and cool than people who aren't. No offense.

17.12.09

As much as I love thunderstorms, they always make me feel small and lonely.
Ask me something! :)

16.12.09

Whenever someone says "Mario", I immediately think of this. :)
A "friend" of mine said that the the hippie slogan was "sex, drugs and rock and roll". ¬¬ Oh, and she also said that this wasn't the rock sign, this was. That's actually how you say "i love you" in sign language. Stubborn people that aren't right annoy the hell out of me.

-

You took a jump into forever, a leap of faith I could not take, I promise that I could not make!
My ashtray heart
10 new books. CHICKA CHICKA YEAH. :D

15.12.09

"Sequins are much more fun than bombs."
- Lady Gaga
<3
This was probably the first Death Cab song I ever heard.
"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."
- Stars
When I saw the part that she shows her ring, I almost screamed "no!" in the movie theater.

Tumblr?

I'm kind of sick of the whole blogspot layout and I might make a tumblr. Just sayin'. :)
It is SUCH an epic fail that Kristen Stewart is in the movie for one of my favorite books. CASTING FAIL. And she's such a crap actress and she's not thaaat pretty.
Such a good first episode.

I have a feeling that I'd get along well with Lady Gaga if I ever met her.
Long distance relationship FTW! :)

11.12.09

This picture made me smile. And it made my mouth water, yuuuum. :)
I'm listening to Avril Lavigne's first CD, the one with "Complicated" and "Skater Boy" on it. This song is one my favorites, it's pretty soothing. I remember listening to this on my Walkman. Mine was way older than the one in the picture, it was my sister's old one and when you tapped it, the music stopped and you had to tap it again so that it'd work. And I remember that I liked Avril Lavigne because she was the first singer that wasn't pop. I mean, now I realize that she is pretty pop-y, but at the time she really different than the stuff I did listen to, like Aqua and Madonna.
I just decided that in the movie of my life, the introduction of "Wake Up" by The Arcade Fire will play in that crucial scene where everything works out for me and I then appear in a kick-ass dress at a party with everyone I love. :)
Today, I realized that since I'm only spending 3 days in São Paulo, I won't be able to go see the Christmas decorations at Iguatemi. :(

9.12.09

Things are just shaping up to be pretty odd

8.12.09

Things that annoy me

- People (besides my parents) telling me what to do and what I can't do.
- When people laugh too hard at something that wasn't thaaat funny.
- When I eat all the popcorn at the movies before the movie is over.
- People that spend too much time talking about themselves.
- People who think I'm stuck-up just because I speak in English.
- People that don't like Family Guy because they think the jokes are mean. I mean, hello, kind of the point?
- Hypocrites
- When people I don't know very well touch me.
- Having to repeat myself because the person didn't hear me the first time.
- Explaining jokes.
- When people wake me up. Besides my mom.
- People who expect me to be chipper and energetic in the morning. I mean, I just woke up, it's way too early to be happy.
- When people get overly competitive during games in PE. I mean, after the bell rings, it'll all be over, why stress over it?
- Pre-teens with facebook.
- Teachers that try to be funny but fail miserably.
- That crackly sound in the taxi where there's this other guy just saying words and the taxi driver doesn't answer or anything and the sound is just there.
- When I go to pay for something, and the person doesn't have change. It's okay if I have like a 50 bill or something, but last time I went to get a taxi, it cost like $8.80 and i gave the guy a $20 and he complained and asked if I had any smaller bills. I didn't and he sighed and got the money out of his pocket. ¬¬
- When people make fun of the way I dance.
- When you're talking to someone and you ask "so how are you?" and they say "oh, I'm not sure..." because they want you to ask what's wrong.
- When people ask me to guess things. I rarely guess the right thing, just say it.
- When I want to talk to someone about something serious and they change the subject.
- When I take pictures and people keep asking me to put them on the computer. It's like, alright, I will, just not immediately when I get home!
- Squeaky voices.
- Claude Troisgros' accent. My mom and Mari think it's cute, it's so not.
- People who've only watched the Harry Potter movies and say that Snape is mean.
- People who say that Twilight is better than Harry Potter.
- When I post something on twitter and people then comment about it in real person; "É, eu sei, eu vi no seu twitter!"
- pEoPlE wHo tYpE lYk DiS. or with th3 w31rd numb3r th1ng.
Like words. If you keep repeating a specific word over and over again, you start to wonder if the word makes sense and it starts to sound awkward and have no meaning.
Me: Mari, eu tou de férias!
Mari: Que bom! Porque antes a sua vida escolar era suuper puxada, né?

On the good side, with all this free time, I might be able to post something good here as opposed to random lists and pretty pictures.

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, DUCKLING! :)

I love you and words can't express how happy and lucky I am to have someone as kick-ass as you in my life.
PS: Is it kind of lame and sentimental that we have an anniversary? A tad.

7.12.09

[crazy bitch mode off hahaha]

Weather like this makes me want to curl up in my bed with my boyfriend and watch The Office.

For now, though, I guess I'll just watch Discovery Home & Health with my cat.

4.12.09

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around." (Here's the link if you wanna see the part of the movie where he says this, it's also cute.)

And this is my absolute favorite scene of the movie.

We're getting close to Christmas, go rent "Love Actually" and watch it with people you love. :)
Like, 90% of the time, I wish I lived in their world, where everyone is gorgeous and rich and all they do is party and look fabulous and hook up and talk bad about each other.
Whenever someone says "I've just had a really long day," I always think, "Well, this day was just as long as every other day, all days have 24 hours." But that might seem really annoying to the person who's complaining about their day.
This is going to seem obvious, but I love love love hanging out with people that are similar to me. It's just been a while since I've found people like that.
So I've been hanging out with these two girls and they're nice and so not like the girls I used to hang out with and I like them. So yeah, life improvement! :)

Now your eyes roll awake, you're looking at me,
You say Darling what happened?
Did I fall asleep?
And you carry me home
Because I know I wasn't here
Not a Second to Waste - A Rocket to the Moon

Now it's going to get harder,
And it's going to burn brighter,
And it's going to feel tougher each and every day,
So let me say that I love you,
You're all I've ever wanted
All I've ever dreamed of to come
and yes you did come
(that's what she said!)
                                                             Kelsey - Metro Station

Yeah, and one of the girls showed these two songs and I liked them. :)

2.12.09

I live for glitter not you!
So, I'm listening to "Heartless" by Kanye West and I'm like, um, this is kind of hypocritical considering the whole you-being-an-asshole-to-Taylor-Swift incident. That's more heartless than whatever the girl the song is directed is. If that makes any sense. Nonetheless, I still think Kanye is super bad ass.
So if the Devil wear Prada, Adam and Eve wear nada, I'm in between but way more fresher

Memory is a tenuous thing...

flickering glimpes, blue
and white, like ancient,
decomposing 16mm film.
Happiness escapes
me there, where faces
are vague and yesterday
seems to come tied
up in ribbons of pains.
Happiness? I look for it instead
in today, where memory
is something I can still
touch, still rely on.
I find it in the smiles
of new friends, the hope
blossoming inside.
My happiest memories
have no place in the
past; they are those
I have yet to create.
One of my favorite poems of all time <3

Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy, put my glasses, I'm out the door, gonna hit this city!

I'm talking pedicure on our toes toes

Thanks for the genes <3

My dad's pretty awesome. :)

Childhood

Okay, so when I was a kid, I basically just watched TV all day and ate cake. I was super chubby. Anyways, based on Vicky's post about things that marked (can you say that in english? I'm thinking of 'marcou' and can't be bothered to find the right word) her childhood, here is my list of favorite TV shows when I was
 little.

Johnny Bravo - How inapropriate is it that this show was about this sexist guy trying to get laid? Because of this show, I started saying "whatever" and randomly screaming "do the monkey!" :)

Dexter's Laboratory - So cool. Because of this show I know that cheese omelet in french is "omelet du fromage". My favorite episodes were the one with the Oonsalagoompagoomp (where he eats like a kilo of meat) and the one where he turns into a clown because a clown bites him hahaha. Oh, and I never understood how a huge laboratory fit into his house and his parents had no idea about it!

Powerpuff Girls - I was Bubbles :) . Mojo Jojo was pretty funny, even though he had no skull and had to wear a helmet to protect his brain. Oh, and Him is a tranvestite. Blew my mind when I figured that out haha.

Ed, Edd n Eddy - Majority of their episodes were about schemes for them to get 25 cents so they could eat jawbreakers which were huuuuge. I secretly had a crush on Double D, probably the first sign of my love for nerds haha although I have no idea what he's doing in the intro part haha. They would always stick their arms and other crap into their ears and it'd go through the other side. I'm also pretty sure Ed had a mental disability (bédgi). Oh and Jimmy was gay hahaha.

Cow and Chicken - This is like the trashiest TV show. I remember they ate pork butts (WTF?) and had this little catapult thing that threw the butts in their mouth, which I wished I had. Oh and there was this whole mystery because you could only see their parents legs and um, how did two humans have children that were livestock?!

Courage the Cowardly Dog - Stupid dog, you make me look bad! Bugabugabuga! This show was so cool, and Muriel was such a cute little old lady :) "The things I do for looove". Courage had a hole in a tooth which appeared when he screamed. Oh and there's an episode based The Exorcist; creeeepy.

Handmaids

"Every night when I go to bed I think, In the morning I will wake up in my own house and things will be back the way they were. It hasn't happened this evening either.

When in doubt, when flat on your back, you can look at the ceiling. Who knows what you may see, up there? Funeral wreaths and angels, constellations of dust, stellar or otherwise, the puzzles left by spiders. There's always something to occupy the inquiring mind.

The three bodies hang there, even with the white sacks over their heads looking curiously stretched, like chickens strung up by the necks in a meatshop window; like birds with their wings clipped, like flightless birds, wrecked angels. It's hard to take your eyes off them. Beneath the hem of the dresses the feet dangle, two pairs of red shoes, one pair of blue. If it weren't for the ropes and the sacks it could be kind of a dance, a ballet, caught by flash-camera: midair. The look arranged. They look like show biz. "

- The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood.

I guess these quotes are more meaningful in the context of the book, but I liked them and wanted to share. I think everyone should read it, it's really good. Dystopian novels ftw!

29.11.09

I saw this on some blog and I was like "Woow, trippy!" and then I thought "Nossa, imagine if Foz do Iguaçu was frozen, that'd be insaaaane!" And then I remembered that it's located on the Southern Hemisphere. Nice going, doofus.

28.11.09

If you havin' girl problems, I feel bad for you son, I've got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one!

Hollaaaaa.

Yesterday I went to my friend's churrasco and made friends :)

Me: Nossa, é, tem uma guria super puta na minha sala.
Him: É, eu sei, ela foi no cinema com esse cara e chupou ele.
Me: Ui, sério, acho muito ruim fazer essas coisas no cinema.
Him: Aham. A não ser que fosse comigo, aí eu não me importaria.
Hahahaha

And then they were talking about Posimusic (which is this project where we have to make music videos in english) and they said they wanted to do "What's my age again?", which is the video where they guys run around naked. :)

And then one of them put on my huge sunglasses and then turned to the other and said "E aí?" and he said "Ai, você tá uma gata?" and the other one said "Então me pegava?" and then they high-fived hahaha.

Oh how I've missed having guy friends! :)
